Rachel Marrs

Executive Director, Infection Prevention And Control Uchicago Medicine Health System at The University of Chicago Medical Center

Rachel Marrs has extensive work experience in the field of infection prevention and control. Rachel has worked for UChicago Medicine since 2010, starting as an Infection Control Practitioner and progressing to roles such as Lead Infection Control Practitioner, Manager of the Infection Control Program, Director of the Infection Control Program, and currently serves as the Executive Director of Infection Prevention and Control for the UChicago Medicine Health System.

Prior to their time at UChicago Medicine, Rachel worked as an RN at Loyola University Medical Center from 2005 to 2011.

Rachel Marrs has a Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Loyola University Chicago, which they obtained from 2015 to 2017. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science in Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse from Illinois State University-Mennonite College of Nursing, completing their studies from 2001 to 2005. Rachel also holds a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from Loyola University Chicago, specializing in Population Based Infection Control and Environmental Safety, which they pursued from 2007 to 2010.
