Carmen Bello

Carmen Bello serves as the Senior Associate Director for Global Initiatives and Strategy at the University of Chicago, a position held since November 2013, where responsibilities include the development and implementation of the university's global strategy. Prior to this role, Carmen held various senior civil service positions at the Ministerio de Asuntos Exteriores y de Cooperación de España from June 2008 to October 2013, overseeing state grants for international cooperation and managing economic and procurement sectors. Carmen’s career began with internships at Médecins du Monde and the European Union Institute for Security Studies, focusing on annual report editing and research on peacekeeping operations, respectively. Academic qualifications include a Master's Degree in International Relations from Universidad Complutense de Madrid and participation in an Executive Program for Emerging Leaders at The University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
