Shannon Leftwich

Shannon Leftwich currently serves as the Assistant Director of Teaching and Learning at the University of Chicago, a position held since February 2023. Previously, Shannon worked as an Instructional Designer at Ruffalo Noel Levitz from September 2020 to February 2023, where responsibilities included managing the development of online and hybrid learning experiences and training faculty on best practices in online course development. Prior experience includes designing custom online courses at Columbia College Chicago Online, collaborating with faculty on programs for continuing education, and serving as a Teaching Technology Specialist at Northwestern University, focusing on instructional design for graduate programs. Shannon's earlier roles include Academic Technology Coordinator and Program Lead of ESL at Computer Systems Institute, overseeing learning management systems and leading a team of ESL instructors. Educational qualifications include a Master of Education in Curriculum Studies from DePaul University and a Bachelor of Arts in English, Creative Writing from the University of Puget Sound.
