Tammy Hicks, PhD, LSW, MSW, currently serves as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Loyola University Chicago, teaching in the Department of Social Work since March 2024. As the Founder of Chicago “300” Black Women since August 2013, Tammy has made significant contributions to the community. Tammy's professional experience includes roles as a Licensed Social Worker II at the University of Chicago, a Psychiatric Social Worker at The New Roseland Community Hospital, and a Clinical Social Worker at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Tammy has extensive experience with the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services, holding various supervisory and investigative positions from August 2002 to June 2020. Tammy earned a PhD in Social Work from Loyola University Chicago and a Master's degree in Social Work from Dominican University, complementing an undergraduate degree in Counseling Psychology from Howard University.
