David Law

Born and raised in Belfast David Law left Northern Ireland to attend the University of Edinburgh where he earned an MA in Economics. While at University David was also President of the Sports Union, captain of the Hockey Club and a Hockey Blue. David joined Price Waterhouse in London after graduation in 1982. Having worked in London, St Albans and Hong Kong and qualified as a chartered accountant, David became a partner in PricewaterhouseCoopers based in Edinburgh in 1994. As a partner he had a number of responsibilities including leading the insurance and investment assurance practice in London and the Scottish Assurance practice. David was the Global leader for insurance in his last 5 years before retirement and throughout his career specialised in auditing large global insurance groups. Upon his retirement from PwC on 30 June 2015, David took up a part-time position as CEO of L&F Holdings Limited and its insurance subsidiaries (L&F). L&F is the captive insurance group, based in Bermuda, that provides professional indemnity insurance to the PricewaterhouseCoopers network and its member firms. He retired from this position in July 2019. David was appointed a Non-Executive Director of Prudential PLC and a member of the Audit Committee in September 2015. He became Chairman of the Audit Committee in May 2017.
