Personal Chair In Contemporary Curating at The University of Edinburgh

Tessa Giblin is an experienced curator and director, currently serving as the Director of Talbot Rice Gallery since November 2016. Under Tessa Giblin's leadership, the gallery focuses on integrating contemporary art with research from the University of Edinburgh and Edinburgh College of Art. Additionally, Tessa Giblin holds the position of Personal Chair in Contemporary Curating at Edinburgh College of Art, contributing to academic discussions in the field. Previous roles include Commissioner and Curator for Ireland's Pavilion at La Biennale de Venezia in 2017, Curator of Visual Arts at Project Arts Centre for a decade, Guest Curator for Steirischer Herbst Festival in 2015, Head of Exhibitions at SMART Project Space in Amsterdam, and Assistant Curator at Artspace Aotearoa. Tessa Giblin earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Canterbury, specializing in Fine Art and Painting.
