Tammy started their career at The University of Kansas Hospital in 1981, working in clinical care until 1991. Tammy then held multiple leadership positions at the hospital, including Hospital Competency Coordinator, Interim Vice President-Patient Care Services and Chief Nursing Officer, Director of Organizational Improvement, Senior Vice President & Chief Nursing Officer, and Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Nursing Officer.
In 2018, Tammy Peterman joined The University of Kansas Health System as President, Kansas City Division, Executive VP/Chief Operating Officer and Chief Nursing Officer. In this role, they were responsible for the day-to-day operations of all hospitals, hospital-based clinics, and outpatient areas in Kansas City. Tammy successfully established a patient-centered culture and helped the organization achieve various accomplishments, such as being honored on US News & World Report's Best Hospitals list for 13 consecutive years and achieving top decile performance nationally in patient satisfaction.
Tammy Peterman obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Nursing from the University of Kansas Medical Center in 1981. Subsequently, they pursued a Master of Science (MS) in Nursing from the same institution and completed it in 1997.
