Kristine Mazzei

Kristine Mazzei has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Kristine started their career as an Independent Consultant, supporting organizations and foundations in their projects related to land and natural resources preservation, rural economic development, and regional planning. In this role, they served as a researcher, strategic planner, fundraiser, program manager, and facilitator. Kristine also contributed to comprehensive program evaluations on behalf of charitable foundations.

Following their consulting work, Mazzei served as the COO & Managing Partner at Valley Vision, a Sacramento-based nonprofit organization. In this position, they oversaw a diverse portfolio of projects and supervised staff members to support program delivery. Valley Vision focused on addressing regional economic, environmental, and social issues by operating as a nonprofit consultancy.

Mazzei then transitioned to California State University, Chico, where they held two roles. Initially, they served as the Development Director for the College of Business, contributing to the growth and success of the college through fundraising efforts. Later, they became the Executive Director of University Development, overseeing the university's overall fundraising initiatives.

Currently, Mazzei is employed at The University of New Mexico Foundation, Inc. Kristine started as the West Coast Regional Development Director, engaging UNM alumni and supporters on the west coast of the United States. In this role, they collaborated with university leaders and development colleagues to provide meaningful updates to constituents and assisted individuals in making philanthropic investments in student scholarships, academic programs, and learning environments. Recently, they have been promoted to the position of Senior Associate Vice President for Central Development and is serving as the Vice President for Central Development.

Kristine Mazzei attended Bucknell University from 1993 to 1997, where they earned their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biology. Following their undergraduate studies, they pursued further education at the University of California, Davis from 1997 to 2000. There, they obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Ecology.
