Sara Norton-Sanner currently serves as the Director of Development for the School of Engineering at The University of New Mexico Foundation, Inc., a position held since February 2025. Previously, Sara held the role of Major Gifts Officer at Animal Protection New Mexico from March 2022 to February 2025, managing a portfolio of donors and overseeing major gifts, business sponsorships, and legacy giving. From March 2019 to December 2021, Sara worked as the Associate Director of Development Communications at Animal Humane New Mexico, focusing on donor communications, publications, and grant writing. Earlier experience includes serving as the Minister of Community Life at Grace Church Episcopal from January 2017 to August 2018, with responsibilities in public relations, volunteer coordination, and youth ministry, and as a Development and Marketing Specialist at NewView Oklahoma from April 2015 to December 2016. Sara holds a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Professional Writing, and Women’s Studies from the University of Oklahoma and a Master’s degree in Theology from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
