Rebecca Gravina is a distinguished academic and engineering professional currently serving as Co-Deputy Head of the School of Civil Engineering and Professor at The University of Queensland, holding the TMR Chair of Structural Engineering since September 2022. With a long-standing affiliation with RMIT University that began in March 2003, Gravina has occupied various roles including Honorary Professor, Discipline Leader of Civil Materials, and Senior Lecturer in Civil/Structural Engineering. Gravina is also a Fellow of Engineers Australia, serving as Editor in Chief of the Australian Journal of Civil Engineering. Additionally, from January 2019 to December 2022, Gravina held leadership roles in the American Society of Civil Engineers, including President of the Australia Section - Region 10. Gravina earned a PhD in Structural Engineering from the University of Adelaide and a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering from Swinburne University of Technology.
