Timothy Man Kong Wong is an accomplished academic with a long-standing tenure at Hong Kong Baptist University since September 1997, where current roles include Director of the Academy of Chinese, History, Religion and Philosophy, Professor of History, and Associate Dean of Social Sciences (Development). Wong has held various academic positions, including Associate Professor and Director of China Studies, and has contributed to the field of history through editorial work for Medical History at Cambridge University Press & Assessment since January 2023. In addition, Wong serves as an Associate Member of the Centre for Port Cities and Maritime Cultures at the University of Portsmouth since October 2023, and as an Honorary Research Senior Fellow in History at The University of Queensland since January 2019. Previous visiting roles include a Visiting Scholar at the University of Cambridge in 2022 and a Visiting Research Fellow at the University of Victoria from July 2021 to June 2022. Wong earned a Master of Philosophy and a Doctor of Philosophy in History from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, completing the latter in 1997.
