Janine Kirby is an experienced academic in the field of neurogenetics, currently serving as a Professor of Neurogenetics at The University of Sheffield since January 2016. Prior to this role, Janine Kirby was a Reader at the same institution from 2005 to 2015, where responsibilities included serving as a Senior Lecturer and Course Lead for the MSc in Translational Neuroscience. Earlier academic work was conducted at University College London as a PhD student from 1992 to 1996. Janine Kirby earned a BSc in Genetics from The University of Sheffield between 1989 and 1992.
