John Clark is an accomplished academic and project leader with extensive experience in cybersecurity and critical systems. Currently serving as Project Lead for the Pitch-In initiative at The University of Sheffield, John addresses barriers to the adoption of the Internet of Things through collaboration between higher education institutions and industry. At the University of York since 1992, John holds the positions of Professor of Critical Systems, Deputy Head of Department (Research), and Director of the MSc Cybersecurity program, focusing on high integrity software and systems engineering. John's earlier career includes roles at the University of Sheffield in computer and information security, CSE International as a lecturer in safety critical systems, and Logica as a security evaluator and consultant. John earned a PhD in Cryptography and Heuristic Search from the University of York and an MA in Mathematics, along with an MSc in Applied Statistics from the University of Oxford.
