John Oyekan

John Oyekan, PhD, CEng, MIET, FHEA, FRSA, serves as a Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) in Digital Manufacturing at the University of York, directing research in AI/ML, Robotics, and Digital Twins in collaboration with various sectors, including pharmaceuticals and construction. Concurrently, John holds a Visiting Lecturer role and previously served as an Assistant Professor at the University of Sheffield, managing over £0.8M in research funding focused on Human-Robot collaboration and advanced sensing techniques. John’s professional background includes positions as a Senior Research Engineer at the Manufacturing Technology Centre, Research Fellow at Cranfield University, and various roles in embedded systems development. John earned a PhD in Computer Science and Electronic Engineering from the University of Essex, complemented by an MSc in Embedded Systems and Robotics and a BEng in Electronics Technology.
