Aleise McGowan

Aleise McGowan, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor at The University of Southern Mississippi since August 2022, specializing in Computer Science and Information Technology. McGowan teaches a range of courses, enhances student learning through innovative approaches, and actively engages in research. Currently serving as Chief Information Security Officer and Assistant Chief Learning Officer at BlackGirlsHack, McGowan oversees cybersecurity training and assessments. Additional roles include founding member and president of the Neurodiversity Affiliate for Women in CyberSecurity, content developer for BGH Security Corporation, and adjunct instructor at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. McGowan holds a Ph.D. in Computing from the University of South Alabama and has extensive experience in technology project management and cybersecurity spanning multiple institutions and leadership positions.
