Chris Winstead

Chris Winstead has an extensive academic career at The University of Southern Mississippi, where involvement spans from September 2002 to the present in various leadership and teaching roles, including Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, Professor, Interim Dean of the College of Science and Technology, Chair of the Department of Physics and Astronomy, Director of the Signal Research Center, and Associate Professor. Prior experience includes positions at Mississippi State University from July 1995 to August 2002, serving as Associate Research Professor, Assistant Research Professor, and Postdoctoral Research Associate. Chris Winstead earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Physics from the Georgia Institute of Technology between 1988 and 1995 and holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Physics from The University of Southern Mississippi, obtained from 1983 to 1988.
