Viola Wiegand (PhD, FHEA) is a Lecturer in Education (TESOL) and the Coordinator of the MSc TESOL (Online) programme at the University of Stirling, where responsibilities include teaching and supervising MSc and PhD projects, as well as conducting research in corpus linguistics and discourse analysis. Wiegand serves as the Vice Chair for SATEFL and was previously an Assistant Editor for the International Journal of Corpus Linguistics at John Benjamins Publishing Company. Previous academic positions include roles at the University of Birmingham and the University of Bath, focusing on TESOL and applied linguistics education. Additionally, Wiegand has a strong background in research, having worked on projects such as the AHRC-funded CLiC Dickens project, as well as teaching and mentoring students in various capacities. Wiegand holds a PhD in Applied Linguistics from the University of Birmingham.
