Bento Lobo

Bento Lobo, Ph.D., CFA, serves as a Research Scholar at the Center for Regional Economic Research and as the Head of the Department of Finance and Economics at The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga since August 2002. Lobo is recognized as the First Tennessee Bank Distinguished Professor of Finance and previously held roles as an Assistant Professor of Finance within the same department. Lobo has provided consultancy services and functioned as an expert witness since 2003 and served as a consultant for the CFA Institute from 2011 to 2018. Prior academic experience includes a position as an Assistant Professor of Finance at UL Lafayette and as an Equity Analyst at DSP-Merrill Lynch. Educational credentials include a Ph.D. in Financial Economics from the University of New Orleans, CFA Charter from CFA Institute, a Masters in Finance from the University of Mumbai, and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from St. Xavier's College.
