Takeo Suzuki

Takeo Suzuki, Ed.D. has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of international education. Takeo currently serves as the Executive Director for the Center for Global Education at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga since September 2015. Prior to this, they worked at the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith from 2006 to 2015, where they held the positions of Executive Director for International Relations and Assistant Provost for International Program Development. At this institution, they were responsible for managing international student and study abroad programs, ensuring SEVIS compliance, and coordinating international student financial aid. Before joining the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith, Takeo Suzuki worked at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock as a Program Director from 2003 to 2005, where they focused on maintaining and developing relationships with donors and organizing events and special programs.

Takeo Suzuki, Ed.D. completed their Bachelor of International Business and Marketing degree in International Commerce at Kobe University of Commerce from 1994 to 2001. Takeo then pursued a Master of Science in Global E-Learning at Texas A&M University - Commerce. In 2015, they enrolled at Northeastern University, where they obtained their Doctor of Education (EdD) in Higher Education/Higher Education Administration in 2019. Takeo Suzuki also holds additional certifications, including Virtual Exchange Academy from The Stevens Initiative at the Aspen Institute, Baden-Württemberg Seminar (virtual) from AACRAO, Intercultural Development Qualified Administrator from IDI, LLC, and Social and Behavioral Research Investigators from CITI Program, A Division of BRANY, which they obtained in 2019, 2021, 2021, and 2022, respectively.
