Amanda Cochran-McCall

Amanda Cochran-McCall currently serves as Vice President for Legal Affairs and General Counsel at The University of Texas at Austin, a position held since June 2019. In this role, Amanda functions as the chief legal officer, general counsel, and chief ethics officer for the university. Previously, Amanda held various positions at the Texas Attorney General's office, including Chief for General Litigation and Associate Deputy Attorney General for Civil Litigation, overseeing multiple divisions addressing significant legal issues such as constitutional, civil rights, and employment law claims. Amanda also practiced law at Bickerstaff Heath Delgado Acosta LLP and began a legal career as an Assistant Attorney General in Texas. Educational credentials include a Juris Doctor from Oklahoma City University School of Law and a Bachelor of Journalism from The University of Texas at Austin.
