John Gooch

John Gooch currently serves as the Program Head for Communication Studies at the Harry W. Bass, Jr. School of Arts, Humanities, and Technology at UT Dallas since October 2022. In addition to this role, John Gooch has been an Associate Professor of Rhetoric and Communication Studies and Associate Dean for Graduate Education at The University of Texas at Dallas since August 2014. John Gooch also holds a position as a Visiting Professor at the University of Verona since February 2013, where instruction focuses on oral presentations and public speaking. A previous visiting professor role at the University of Brescia occurred from September 2018 to November 2018, also teaching in the area of public speaking. John Gooch earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Technical Communication and Rhetoric from Texas Tech University, along with a Master's degree in History from West Texas A&M University.
