Alex Reid

Alex Reid has extensive experience in IT management and ethics, currently serving as a member of the Professional Ethics Committee at the Australian Computer Society since September 2017, and as Honorary Editor of the eResearch Newsletter since November 2015. At the University of Western Australia, Alex lectures in Ethics for Computer Professionals and has also held various roles, including IT Policy Executive and Professorial Fellow. Previous positions include Director of Computing Services at the University of Oxford and Director at the WA Regional Computing Centre. Alex has contributed to the eResearch sector through advisory roles at AARNet and has acted as Honorary Co-Chair of the eResearch Australasia Conference 2021/22. Educational qualifications include an MA in IT Management from the University of Oxford, an MBA in technology management from Deakin University, and a BSc in mathematics and computing from The University of Western Australia.
