Alistair Paterson

Alistair Paterson serves as the Chair of the Maritime Archaeology Advisory Committee at the Western Australian Museum since 2017 and holds multiple roles at The University of Western Australia, including Head of the School of Social Sciences and Professor of Archaeology, with prior experience as Discipline Chair of Archaeology from 2010 to 2013. Paterson's earlier position as a researcher at the Australian Heritage Commission in 1995 involved assessment work. Educationally, Paterson earned a PhD in Archaeology from the University of Sydney between 1994 and 1999 and a Bachelor of Arts Honours in Archaeology and Anthropology from the University of Melbourne from 1989 to 1994, preceded by matriculation at Don College in 1986-1987.
