Alex Kinnier

Alex Kinnier is the co-founder and CEO of The Upside Travel Company. Alex has over 20 years of experience in the technology and consumer industries.

Prior to founding The Upside, Alex served as the Senior Vice President of Products and Engineering at Opower, a software company that partners with utilities to engage their customers. Alex was responsible for leading Opower's 250 person product and engineering teams, including engineering, infrastructure, product management, user experience, professional services and analytics. Alex was part of the management team that took Opower public on the NYSE in 2014 and oversaw the company's acquisition by Oracle in 2016.

Before joining Opower, Alex was a partner at New Enterprise Associates (NEA), a venture capital firm where they invested in consumer, information, and clean technologies companies. Alex also served as a partner at Khosla Ventures, where they focused on investments in cleantech and information technology companies.

Earlier in their career, Alex worked in product management and brand management at Google and Procter & Gamble. Alex has a BA from Dartmouth College and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Alex Kinnier has a MBA from Harvard Business School and a BS in Chemical Engineering from Lehigh University.
