As Executive Vice President of Administration and Chief Human Resources Officer at Halliburton, Lawrence Pope manages approximately 10,000 employees and oversees the global functions of Supply Chain, Human Resources, Information Technology, Real Estate Services, Corporate Security, Corporate Affairs and Corporate Aviation. Mr. Pope is also a member of the Halliburton Executive Committee.
Under Mr. Pope’s leadership, Supply Chain manages over $15 billion in spending and oversees 22 manufacturing facilities in 8 countries while shipping $4.5 billion annually. He also oversees more than 270,000 active stock-keeping units (SKUs) across 500 inventory-carrying locations. This represents execution of more than 2 million international shipments annually, in approximately 110 countries via 4 global cross docks and approximately 9,000 rail cars. Additionally, under Mr. Pope’s direction, Supply Chain responded to the energy down cycle in 2015 by renegotiating pricing with over 8,000 vendors globally, reducing spending by more than 8%.
As Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), Mr. Pope oversees an industry-leading, internationally-diverse workforce of over 70,000 employees working in 80 countries, representing over 140 nationalities, with 90 percent localization. His direction of a world-class Succession Management program led to prestigious recognition for Halliburton from the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI). For 5 consecutive years, Halliburton has received top ratings from DJSI in several categories including Human Capital Development. Halliburton has also been accredited by the International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC) for industry leadership in documented competency of its workforce.
Mr. Pope leads Information Technology (IT) to deliver scalable global solutions at a best-in-class cost structure. Leveraging standardized technology, global common processes, strong internal controls and risk mitigation strategies, IT supports a global application portfolio of over 600 software applications running on a global network of 62,000 connected PCs and 7,200 servers with over 7.4 petabytes of storage (enough to fill the US Library of Congress digital archives more than twice) while maintaining 99.99% systems availability.
Within his responsibility for the Real Estate Services group Mr. Pope oversees approximately 50 million square feet of space and 28,000 thousand acres of land. He has managed 225 capital build projects with a contract value of $1.5 billion. This includes a $300 million expansion and consolidation of offices in Houston, Texas. His leadership also contributed to Greenmark and LEED gold and silver-certified facilities globally.
Mr. Pope is also responsible for Corporate Security for approximately 1,000 properties globally. In Corporate Affairs, he enables over $7.4 million in Company contributions supporting over 1,400 nonprofits globally. Additionally, under his leadership, Corporate Aviation flew over 1,400 hours in 2014 and recently celebrated 30 years of incident-free operations.
