The Village for Families & Children
After serving families directly in several Village programs for many years, Patty now directs the successful Reunification and Therapeutic Family Time (RTFT) program that helps families, where a child is in the custody of the CT Department of Children and Families, to reunify with their child.
“My mission at The Village is to ensure that children are safe, happy and loved in their own homes with their own families, whenever possible,” says Patty.
Patty first joined The Village as a youth counselor in The Village’s Safe Home; she then provided home-based services to families referred by the Department of Social Service. Prior to directing the RTFT program, she assisted at-risk families in the Intensive Family Preservation Program for several years. Proceeding her time at The Village, she was a family counselor at the Salvation Army Marshall House Family Shelter.
Patty has also served as a hotline volunteer with the YWCA’s Sexual Assault Crisis Services. She earned her bachelor’s in human services and master’s degrees from Springfield College, and a family development credential from UConn.
