Mike MacLeish has extensive work experience in various engineering and management roles. Mike currently serves as the Vice President at Wagner, a company specializing in metal fabricating and architectural railing expertise. Prior to this, they worked as the Senior Engineering Management at Wagner from 2016 to 2018. Mike has also worked as the Chief Brand Officer and Director of Engineering and Design at SPI Lighting, where they contributed to lighting projects and oversaw various aspects of product design, marketing, and sales. Mike MacLeish has also held positions at Milwaukee Sign Company, Kohler, Cascade Designs - Varilite, and Assistive Device Center, where they gained experience in engineering, design, and project management.

Mike MacLeish completed their high school education at Waunakee High School from 1980 to 1984. Afterward, they pursued a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) at the University of Wisconsin-Madison from 1984 to 1988. Mike then furthered their education by obtaining a Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering (MS) at California State University-Sacramento from 1989 to 1991. In addition to their formal education, Mike has obtained certifications in "Sustainability for Design, Construction, and Manufacturing" and "Construction Management: Project Delivery Methods" from LinkedIn, in March 2023 and January 2023 respectively.
