Dany Chan

Associate Curator, Art of Asia at The Walters Art Museum

Dany Chan has extensive experience in the field of art and curatorship. Their most recent role was as an Associate Curator of Art of Asia at The Walters Art Museum, which they have held since July 2021. Prior to this, they served as an Assistant Curator of Art of Asia at the same museum from May 2019 to July 2021. Dany also has freelance experience as a writer in the art and culture field since January 2018. Earlier in their career, they worked at the Asian Art Museum, where they held various positions including Assistant Curator for Exhibition Projects from April 2011 to July 2018, Assistant Curator of Chinese Art from February 2010 to April 2011, and Curatorial Assistant of Chinese Art from September 2007 to February 2010. Dany's work experience also includes a Mellon Fellowship at the RISD Museum in 2006.

Dany Chan pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in East Asian Studies, with a specialization in Chinese, from Colby College. This education journey lasted from 1998 to 2002. Later on, from 2004 to 2007, Dany Chan attended Brown University to attain a Master of Art degree in History of Art & Architecture, focusing on China.
