Elena Damon

Digital Imaging Specialist at The Walters Art Museum

Elena Damon has a diverse range of work experience. In 2016, they worked as an intern at the United States Naval Academy Museum. Later that year, they took on the roles of Gallery Attendant and Photo Lab Manager at Loyola University Maryland. As a Gallery Attendant, Elena monitored the gallery space and assisted with exhibit installation and deinstallation. In their role as Photo Lab Manager, they assisted students with printing and photo editing and managed Epson printers. In 2017, they worked as an Administrative Assistant at ALLIANCE ARCHITECTURE. Elena then joined the Smithsonian Institution, Museum of Natural History in 2018, where they worked as a Digitization Support Intern and an Education and Outreach Collection Intern. In 2019, they moved on to the National Park Service as a Collections Photographer before landing their current role as a Digital Imaging Specialist at The Walters Art Museum.

Elena Damon attended Loyola University Maryland from 2013 to 2017, where they earned a Bachelor's Degree. Their field of study was Visual Arts, with a double major in Photography and Art History. Following their undergraduate studies, they pursued further education at The George Washington University from 2017 to 2019. During this period, Elena obtained their Master of Arts degree in Museum Studies.
