Antonio Olivo

Antonio Olivo is an experienced journalist currently serving as the local politics and government editor at The Washington Post since September 2013, overseeing Maryland coverage. Prior to this role, Antonio worked as a staff writer, focusing on government, politics, and demographics in Northern Virginia, along with some national and foreign reporting. Previously, Antonio served as an immigration and urban affairs reporter at the Chicago Tribune from April 2004 to August 2013, and held the position of New York reporter at Bloomberg News from April 2001 to April 2004, where reporting included labor, housing, and transportation topics, particularly during the 9-11 events. Antonio began a career at the Los Angeles Times from 1998 to 2001 as a staff reporter covering East Los Angeles and local politics. Antonio earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Language and Literature/Letters from UCLA between 1986 and 1991.
