Emmanuel Felton

Emmanuel Felton is a seasoned journalist and educator specializing in race and ethnicity reporting. Currently serving as a race and ethnicity reporter for The Washington Post since June 2021, Felton also authors "THE SEARCH FOR BLACK MECCA," an investigation into the aftermath of the Great Migration for HarperCollins Publishers. As a lecturer at Yale University and an adjunct professor at Hunter College, Felton teaches courses on race and American policy and investigative reporting, respectively. Previous experience includes roles as an investigative reporter at BuzzFeed and senior staff writer at The Hechinger Report, where coverage focused on race and education. Felton's work has been featured in notable publications such as The Nation, The Atlantic, and PBS NewsHour. Felton holds a Master of Science in Journalism from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Emory University.
