Laura Michalski

Laura Michalski is a seasoned journalist and senior copy editor with extensive experience in the field. Currently employed at The Washington Post since August 2017, Laura manages a 40-member copy desk, providing scheduling and coaching support. Previous experience includes roles at The Virginian-Pilot from May 2005 to August 2017, where Laura served as night editor and assistant copy desk chief, overseeing news planning and content editing. Earlier career at The Daily Collegian included serving as a reporter and copy editor. Educational credentials include a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the Schreyer Honors College at Penn State and training at The Poynter Institute.
