Tim Meko

Deputy Director Of Graphics

Tim Meko is a seasoned graphics professional with extensive experience in data visualization and design. Currently serving as Deputy Director of Graphics at The Washington Post since January 2016, Tim oversees the graphics team and coordinates breaking news coverage while previously holding roles as Senior Graphics Editor and Graphics Reporter. Prior to this, Tim worked at The Urban Institute from September 2011 to January 2016, where responsibilities included leading an interdisciplinary team and managing design standards. Tim also has a strong freelance background, providing infographics services to notable clients, and experience as Creative Director at The NEED Project. Earlier in the career, Tim was an Infographics Artist at The Columbus Dispatch and an instructor at Ohio University. Tim holds a Master of Arts in Photography with a specialization in Information Graphics and Publication Design from Ohio University and a BA in Digital Imaging & Application Design from Transylvania University.
