Varun Shankar is an accomplished sports journalist with extensive experience covering a wide range of sports. Currently serving as a Washington Wizards Beat Reporter at The Washington Post since September 2021, Varun also covers high school field hockey in the DMV area. Prior to this role, Varun worked as Sports Editor and Football Beat Reporter at The Diamondback, overseeing a team of writers and producing in-depth coverage of Maryland football and women's basketball.
