The WaterFront Center
Madeleine Zember is a dedicated and experienced high school librarian/educator at Uniondale High School. In addition to their work in education, Madeleine volunteers as a crew member at Water Front Center, an outing leader for the Sierra Club, a tour escort for Fantastic Tours and Travel, and a special ed teacher at Midway Jewish Center. With degrees in Library Science and Special Education, Madeleine is passionate about teaching, sharing the joy of nature, and promoting the importance of library resources.

The WaterFront Center is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization offering a diverse selection of programs and activities for people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities that increase their well-being and their appreciation of the marine environment. The WaterFront Center provides water access to Oyster Bay through marine education programs, sailing instruction, paddleboard, kayak, and sailboat rentals, and boat tours aboard the historic oyster sloop, "Christeen". Established in 2000, The WaterFront Center is a 501(c)(3) non-for-profit organization offering a diverse selection of programs and activities to people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities. Each year, we provide engaging hands-on activities to more than 20,000 students, families, veterans, and people with disabilities to help them learn about and appreciate the marine environment.
