Mark Rykoff is an Emmy-winning photo editor based in Brooklyn, New York, currently working at The Week where they research imagery and oversee photography in the newsroom workflow. They previously held positions at Al Jazeera America, where they established a photo desk and managed all photography for the website, and at TIME magazine, where they began their career in the Moscow bureau before moving to the magazine's headquarters. Rykoff has a Master’s Degree in Soviet History and a Bachelor’s Degree in History from Columbia University. Their extensive experience in photo editing is complemented by strong relationships with photographers, editors, and multi-media developers.
