Jakob Detering

Jakob Detering is the Managing Director of Impact Hub Vienna since February 2023, leading a prominent platform for social innovation and various initiatives including the Climate Lab and the Future Health Lab. As Chairman of the Board for the Social Impact Award since November 2015, Jakob transitioned from operational leadership after significantly scaling the organization to support nearly 10,000 young social entrepreneurs annually across multiple regions. Additionally, Jakob serves as an Impact Advisor for Austria's Social Entrepreneurship Venture Capital Funds, a Board Member of SOMARO, and is involved with the Wellbeing Project and the Global Shapers Community. Previous experiences include roles as a University Lecturer at MODUL University Vienna, Innovation Consultant for Caritas, and Project Manager at the Katharina Turnauer Foundation. Jakob holds a Master in Public Policy from Humboldt-Viadrina School of Governance and a Bachelor of Science from WU Vienna University of Economics and Business.
