Mary Jane Pickens is the current Executive Director at The West Virginia State Bar. Prior to their current position, they served as the Deputy Secretary for the Department of Administration and the Executive Director BRIM for the State of West Virginia from January 2015 to May 2022. From January 2001 to November 2011, they were the General Counsel for the West Virginia Offices of the Insurance Commissioner. From January 1986 to December 2001, they were a Partner at Caldwell, Cannon-Ryan & Riffee. Mary also served as the Acting Cabinet Secretary for the Department of Administration for the State of West Virginia from February 2016 to January 2017.
Mary Jane Pickens has a Juris Doctor from Ohio Northern University—Claude W. Pettit College of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from West Virginia University.
