The Wolfsonian–FIU
Silvia Manrique Tamayo is an experienced conservator and collections manager with a robust background in art conservation spanning over two decades. Currently serving as Assistant Director of Collections at The Wolfsonian–FIU since 2014, Silvia oversees the preventive conservation and management of a collection exceeding 180,000 objects, while also providing conservation treatment for items featured in exhibitions. Previous roles include conservator of wooden polychrome sculptures at KIK-IRPA, where Silvia worked on a XVI-century sculpture, and an internship at Instituto Valenciano de Conservación y Restauración de Bienes Culturales focused on wooden sculptures and paintings. Earlier experience includes a position at the Utah Museum of Fine Arts as conservator and collections manager, where Silvia implemented care standards for the museum's collections. Silvia holds a Master's Degree in Art Conservation from Universitat Politècnica de València and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Art Conservation from ENCRYM.
