Laila Smith has a diverse work experience that spans various industries and positions. In 2022, they were a TEDxNewHaven Speaker and a Student Speaker, where they developed advanced public speaking skills and applied psychological concepts to real-life experiences of racism and prejudice. In the same year, they were also a Ron Brown Captain at the Ron Brown Scholar Program. In 2020, Laila founded and became the CEO of Lai Photography and Video LLC. Laila also had internship roles as a Marketing Intern at indigenous and a Music Industry and Data Analytics Externship at Thematic. Laila's involvement in the USC Undergraduate Student Government included roles such as Executive Intern for the Black Student Assembly, Associate Director for Siblings in Solidarity, and Student Ambassador for the E-Board of the Black Student Assembly. In 2023, Laila will be a part of the BCG Launch program at Boston Consulting Group. Laila is also an Edge Scholar at SEO (Sponsors for Educational Opportunity) and a Sales Associate at DUER.

Laila Smith's education history includes a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Southern California. In 2023, they started pursuing a minor in Marketing at the USC Marshall School of Business. Laila also completed the Viral Marketing and How to Craft Contagious Content Course from the University of Pennsylvania - Coursera in 2022. Lastly, they obtained the SHE WORKS Career Readiness Certificate from LiveGirl in 2021.
