Niels Bormans is the Group CEO at The Zubair Corporation.
Prior to their current role, Niels served as the Deputy Group Chief Executive Officer at Ghobash Group from March 2020 to December 2021. In this role, they were responsible for the P&L of the entire Ghobash Group, which consists of three pillars: operating companies, real estate, and investment management.
From January 2018 to December 2021, Niels was the Chief Executive Officer of Aban Investment, the Ghobash Group's portfolio of operating companies. This portfolio includes Computer Network Systems (CNS), GCG Enterprise Solutions, MPS, GCG Engineering Services, Emirates Electrical & Instrumentation, Arabian Ethicals Pharma, Pyramids Health, Hayati Health, Tawazon, Spectrum, Prime Hospitality, Ataya and Modern Laundry. Niels oversaw a team of approximately 2,000 employees in this role.
Prior to their time at Ghobash Group, Niels served as the Managing Director at The Abraaj Group from February 2017 to October 2017. In this role, they were responsible for leading the firm's performance acceleration group on a global scale. From August 2016 to January 2017, Niels served as the Global Head of the Abraaj Performance Acceleration Group. In this role, they were responsible for leading a team of consultants that provided operational and strategic support to portfolio companies in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Niels Bormans has an MBA from Harvard Business School and an MSc in Electrical Engineering from Delft University of Technology. Niels attended Gymnasium Beta at Rotterdams Montessori Lyceum and Elementary School at NBS.
