Claudia Laws has extensive work experience in the media industry. Claudia is currently the Principal at Laws Consulting, LLC, where they assist news organizations in implementing effective marketing, editorial, business, and product strategies for growth. Claudia has worked with international and American chain newspapers, small independent media organizations, and nonprofit news organizations.

Prior to their current role, Claudia held several positions at The Times-Picayune | Nola.com, including Director of Consumer Revenue and Subscriber Innovation and Subscription Acquisition Director. Claudia also served as the President of the Board at Amplify Utah.

Claudia has worked as a Contractor at the National Trust for Local News and as a Coach for teams in the U.S. and Canada as part of the Facebook/Meta Accelerator programs under the Facebook Accelerator/Facebook Journalism Project.

Claudia'sprevious experience includes roles as the Marketing and Analytics Director at The Salt Lake Tribune, Audience Development Data Manager, Special Projects and Events Manager - Sales, and Audience Development Director at Ballantine Communications, Inc. Claudia's early career involved positions at Ballantine Communications, Inc. as Senior Manager, Online News & Video and Digital Audience Manager, as well as roles at Rapid City Journal Media Group as Managing Editor, Assistant Managing Editor, and Online Editor.

Claudia Laws earned a Bachelor's degree in Journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2002. Claudia later pursued a Master of Science degree in Business Analytics at the University of Utah - David Eccles School of Business, which they completed in 2021.
