Lisa Kaplan has a diverse work experience. Lisa is currently the Founder and CEO of Alethea Group since May 2019. Lisa has also served as a Board of Visitors at Colby College since May 2022. Lisa worked as a Fellow at the National Security Institute (NSI) from July 2020. Prior to that, Lisa was an Associate at Argonne National Laboratory starting from January 2020. Lisa has experience in the political field as well, having worked as a Digital Director for Angus King for U.S. Senate from January 2018 to December 2018. Before that, Lisa worked at PwC as a Senior Consultant from June 2015 to January 2018. Lisa also worked at the United States Senate as a Legislative Correspondent from April 2014 to May 2015. Lisa has had international work experience as well, having served as a Project Assistant for the National Democratic Institute (NDI) in the MENA region from January 2014 to April 2014. Lisa was also a Participant Manager at the Halifax International Security Forum from September 2013 to December 2013. Lisa began their career as a Research Assistant at Colby College from May 2012 to March 2013.

Lisa Kaplan attended Colby College from 2009 to 2013, where they completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government and Middle Eastern Studies. In 2013, they also briefly studied Arabic Language and Literature at Middlebury Language School. Additionally, Lisa pursued Arabic and Middle Eastern Studies at the University of Jordan from 2011 to 2012, and they further enhanced their Arabic language skills through another program at Middlebury Language School in 2011.
