ArtReach GW at THEARC is a community arts program that has been active since 1992, in partnership with The George Washington University and the Corcoran School of the Arts and Design. The program focuses on fostering creativity in East of the River communities in Washington, DC, and aims to serve as a cornerstone for community engagement through visual art-based initiatives.

Officially opened in October 2005, Building Bridges Across the River (BBAR) at The Town Hall Education Arts & Recreation Campus (THEARC) is a $27 million, 110,000 square foot, state-of-the art campus located in Washington, DC's Ward 8. Twelve cultural and social service partners are based at THEARC, and one off campus, all share the goal of helping underserved children and adults reach their full potential.
