Benjamin Schmidt

Benjamin Schmidt has extensive experience in musical direction and conducting, currently serving as the Assistant Musical Director at Theatre Cedar Rapids since 2010. Responsibilities include attending rehearsals, assisting in direction, taking notes, and hiring instrumentalists for orchestras. As a conductor, Benjamin rehearses and conducts the Pit Orchestra while also editing scores for specific staging. Since December 2012, Benjamin has been the Show Choir Band Director and Arranger at George Washington High School, where arrangements and edits have been made for the ensembles Momentum, Celebration, and Vivace, alongside directing the backup band for performances. Benjamin is an alumnus of the University of Northern Iowa.
