Joe Koelzer has over 25 years of professional experience. Joe began their career in 1985 at the Microelectronics and Computer Technology Corporation (MCC), where they held various roles. In 1992, they moved to MCC Ventures as Treasurer. In 1993, they joined Tamarack Storage Devices, Inc. as Vice President and CFO. In 1995, they co-founded and became CEO of Excel Sports, Inc. In 1997, they joined vcfo, Inc. as Executive Vice President and COO. In 2004, they moved to CFO Selections, LLC as a Senior Associate. In 2009, they joined Full Circle Farm, Inc. as CFO. In 2011, they co-founded and became CEO of The Clearing, SPC, a Washington State Social Purpose Corporation, providing a unique residential treatment center experience. At The Clearing, Joe works with people dealing with traumatic life events, mood disorders, addictive behaviors, eating disorders, and co-occurring issues.
Joe Koelzer received their Masters in Spritual Psychology from the University of Santa Monica in 2002. Joe had previously obtained their BBA in Accounting, Finance & General Business from The University of Texas at Austin in 1983.

It’s time for us to share our decision to permanently retire the Residential aspect of The Clearing. We are intensely focusing our efforts on bringing the remarkable model of recovery The Clearing pioneered in our residential community to the online community. As many of you know, the new and innovative approach to providing treatment by working with Underlying Core Issues achieved astonishing success over our seven years of service. We are excited to offer the same excellence and personal service in this new model, while being able to work with more people at a more affordable price point.
