April D. Ryan has a diverse work experience that spans over several decades. April D. started their career as a News Director at V-103 in 1991 and moved on to become a White House Correspondent and Washington Bureau Chief at AURN - American Urban Radio Networks in 1997. April D. held this role for 24 years before joining theGrio in 2021 as a White House Correspondent and Washington Bureau Chief. April also worked as a Regular Guest on TV One from 2009 to 2011. In 2015, they became a Best Selling Book Author for "The Presidency in Black and White." April D.'smost recent role is as an Author for "Black Women Will Save the World: An Anthem" since 2022.

April D. Ryan attended Morgan State University from 1985 to 1989, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Broadcast Journalism.
