Kay Wicker

Kay Wicker is a skilled lifestyle reporter at theGrio, where coverage focuses on various aspects of Black life, including fashion, wellness, and travel since October 2022. Prior to this role, Kay served as a staff reporter at St. Croix Avis and as a guns reporter at ThinkProgress, where increased coverage on firearm issues was achieved. Kay has also contributed writing to the Washington Post Express and The Baltimore Sun Media Group, and worked as a staff writer for Baltimore STYLE magazine. An editorial fellow at Washingtonian Magazine, Kay fact-checked print editions and assisted with editorial tasks. Additional experience includes contributions to Curls Understood as a videographer and video editor, and serving as editor-in-chief for The Elm Student Newspaper. Kay holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature from Washington College.
