Tal Niv is a writer, photography critic, and magazine editor who has been with Haaretz since 1991, serving as the English Edition Weekend Magazine Editor from 1998 to 2017. Currently, they are the Letters Editor and contribute regularly to the Op-Ed section, alongside editing at TheMarker. Niv's photography columns are being developed into a book, and they have also explored their upbringing on Kibbutz Ashdot Yaakov through a year-long column, which is set to be expanded into another book. They studied comparative literature at Tel Aviv University and reside in Tel Aviv with their family.
