Elaine Morten has extensive work experience in regulatory affairs and pharmacovigilance. Elaine served as the Vice President Head of Global Pharmacovigilance at The Medicines Company, where they were responsible for global safety and risk management for a diverse portfolio of products. Prior to that, they held the position of Vice President Global Regulatory Affairs at the same company. Before joining The Medicines Company, Elaine Morten worked as the Director of Regulatory Affairs at British Biotech Pharmaceuticals Ltd. Elaine also gained experience as a Manager of Regulatory Affairs at Shire Pharmaceuticals.

Elaine Morten began their education at the University of East London from 1982 to 1986, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences. After completing their undergraduate studies, they furthered their academic journey at the University of Oxford from 1988 to 1991. There, they obtained a PhD in Molecular Biology. Subsequently, in 1992 and 1993, Elaine Morten attended Oxford University's Hertford College to pursue a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) with a focus on Education.
